
DR. COURTNEY ALIO
Doctor of Clinical Psychology
Dr. Courtney Alio was born and raised in Montgomery County. She received her bachelor’s degree from Cabrini College in Radnor, PA. She went on to receive her master’s degree from St. Joseph’s University in experimental psychology and a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient facilities, outpatient therapy settings, medical hospitals, primary care offices, school settings, and in-home wrap around services. She has an interest in working with adolescents, young adults, and adults. She has previous experience in working with individuals who are struggling with a variety of concerns including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, behavioral issues, major life transitions, medical adherence, substance use, caregiver burden, executive functioning skill deficits/ADHD, and forensic issues.
Dr. Alio takes a more individualized approach when working with clients by combining cognitive behavioral techniques, evidenced-based practices, interpersonal approaches, and mindfulness-based techniques. In a supportive, collaborative, safe, working alliance, she uses evidence-based techniques that have been shown to make a real difference in people’s lives and help them cope in the future. Dr. Alio strives to being genuineness to her therapeutic work. She prides herself on being easygoing and compassionate. She believes in genuine connection and rapport to facilitate growth. As such, she uses her kind nature, humor, empathy, creativity, and warmth to help support her clients on the path to reaching their goals.
When not working, Dr. Alio enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing with her Siberian Husky, running, swimming, and baking. She enjoys traveling and watching different movies and TV shows.
