ALEXANDRA FARKAS, M.Ed., LAPC
Licensed Associate Professional Counselor
Alex is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) who is passionate about helping individuals find clarity, strength, and hope during life’s most challenging moments. She earned her master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Lehigh University and is passionate about supporting teens and young adults navigating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety, life transitions, stress, self-esteem concerns, and relationship challenges. Alex believes that beneath every struggle is a person with unique strengths, values, and untapped resilience. She is dedicated to helping her clients better understand themselves, navigate difficult emotions, and build the confidence to move forward with greater self-compassion and purpose. Her approach centers on creating a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and empowered to grow.
Drawing from evidence-based therapies including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS), Alex tailors treatment to each individual’s needs and goals. She helps clients face fears with courage, reduce the grip of avoidance and compulsive behaviors, strengthen emotional resilience, and develop practical skills for navigating life’s challenges. Through this work, clients gain greater self-awareness, psychological flexibility, and the ability to create meaningful change aligned with their values.
Alex views therapy as a collaborative journey. She works alongside her clients to identify personalized goals and develop the tools needed to build healthier relationships, foster emotional well-being, and cultivate a stronger connection to themselves. Her commitment to providing an inclusive and affirming therapeutic environment allows clients to explore their experiences with honesty, curiosity, and hope.
Outside of the therapy room, Alex enjoys staying active through surfing and yoga, traveling to new destinations, and spending quality time with family and friends—experiences that continue to deepen her appreciation for connection, balance, and personal growth.
